Harrow Little Lions Early Years Centres provide young children with an excellent and enjoyable start to their educational journey through life. Adopting the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum of England and adding strong local linguistic and cultural dimensions, pupils begin to develop creative thinking and collaboration skills through a progressive curriculum that recognises the individuality of each learner. It is at this stage too, within the pleasant atmosphere of the Centres, that the Harrow Values of Courage, Honour, Humility and Fellowship are introduced, helping to shape character from this very early point in their lives. Given the solid foundation offered by a Harrow International education, the path is set to progress from being Little Lions to becoming leaders for tomorrow’s world.
Four key elements of learning
Set in state-of-the-art facilities, our child-centred approach ensures that every individual reaches their full potential.
Central to our approach is a play-based philosophy. Children learn differently to adults. Educational research has shown that, for optimal development, children need to be exposed to diverse stimuli. They learn by experiencing new ways of moving, new textures, new sounds, new experiences and new environments. A child’s cognitive development is influenced by exposure to varied modes of learning.
In short, children learn through structured ‘play’; through carefully constructed experiences which expose them to new situations and new sensations.
